Addressing the Past, Avoiding the Present, Ignoring the Future? Ongoing Human Rights Trials in Argentina

The recent death of the former de facto President of Argentina, Army Gen. Jorge Videla, has led to a renewed international interest in the ongoing trials for past abuses that are underway in Argentine courts. I contributed with my thoughts on Videla to BBC Radio 4 ‘Last Word’ programme, which was broadcast today [available from the BBC website here].

In a recently drafted piece for the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) Forum I offered some brief reflections on the Argentine human rights trials beyond Videla.
